As part of the annual World Trade Week recognition event and World Trade Conference and Expo, Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura presented this year’s World Trader of the Year award to Ted Christianson at a luncheon on Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
The World Trader of the Year recipient is selected by World Trade Week Inc., a non-profit organization with representation from international business, education and government export service providers and has sponsored the annual recognition event and forum for discussing international trade issues since 1976.
Ted Christianson, president, Christianson Systems of Blomkest has increased the company’s focus on international sales with great success. Christianson has been an advocate of the U.S. government’s export promotion programs and was among six companies invited to testify before Ex-Im Bank’s Small Business Advisory Board on behalf of small business exporters.
Christianson Systems is a leading manufacturer of ship unloaders and pneumatic conveying systems for bulk materials, such as grains, feeds, fertilizers, and plastics. Christianson’s equipment serves the agriculture, commercial bulk handling, and marine port industries in the USA and internationally.
